The concept for this robot started as a 3-axis robot, using standard mechanisms and parts such as stepper motors and aluminum profiles to allow great freedom in customization to satisfy the particular needs of each studio. The design was progressively improved to include up to 7 axes and a jib for easier manipulation.

Compass has been used by professional studios in numerous projects, mainly stop-motion, such as Lado C; a compilation of animated shorts of famous cartoons including Adventure Time and Regular Show, requested by Cartoon Network Latin America to the film studio Cinema Fantasma, and Viva el Rey, a short film awarded with the Ariel award for Best Animated Short Film.
